We are pleased to announce that this June we will be playing a touring team from the USA again. The game is scheduled to take place on Monday 4th June from 5-8pm, at Broughton High School.

To prepare for this we will be having pick up games on Thursdays from 7 to 8 at Broughton High School. The first game will be this Thursday (10th June 2012). Anyone and everyone is welcome to come. It will be 5 pounds per head per session to help pay for the pitch hire.

Please keep in mind that this is intended to be a pick up game, not a training session. That means no drills, no discussion of plays or strategy. Due to the short time span, we’ll do a quick 5 minute warm up and then play 25 min halves with some time in the end for the losing team to clear up.

McRobert Tournament Results

This weekend Edinburgh City took part in the McRobert Tournament with Aberdeen City and Glasgow Uni. Edinburgh put in a dominant performance wining the plate despite missing a few players due to injury and other commitments.

Edinburgh’s first game was against Glasgow Uni who after being defeated last week were out for some vengeance. The first quarter was very even with Edinburgh managing to pull ahead slightly to gain a 3 – 2 lead. The rest of the game was not so evenly matched goals for Marty Crawford, Nick Duncan-Price, Lee McCrohan, Bret Retalick, Greg Scott, Scott Swan, Marc Watson and even a long pole goal for Andy O’Donnell. Edinburgh ended the game 15 – 2 after shutting out Glasgow Uni for the final three quarters.

Edinburgh City Vs Granite City Gladiators

As part of the McRobert Tournament this weekend Edinburgh City played the Granite City Gladiators. After a hard fought game against Glasgow Uni an obviously tired Edinburgh took to the field against the Gladiators.

The first quarter was close with the fresh Gladiators matching the excellent individual play of a tired Edinburgh side. Edinburgh’s first goal came from a beautiful dodge by Marty Crawford. The Gladiators kept the game tight catching Edinburgh on the break. Score at the end of the first quarter Edinburgh City 3 – 2 Granite City Gladiators.

Glasgow Uni Vs Edinburgh City

The week a depleted Edinburgh City traveled to Glasgow to play Glasgow Uni. The Edinburgh team, missing Bill, Lee and Mike, were looking to keep the momentum of last weeks win over Glasgow City and clinch the league title with a victory.

After a slow start and several near misses the first goal came from Marc Watson with big outside shot. After that the goals came thick and fast for both teams with the first quarter ending 3 – 4 to the visiting Edinburgh side.

Edinburgh City Vs Glasgow City

This weekend Edinburgh City hosted Glasgow City on their new pitches at Broughton High School. This was the top of the table clash, and after Edinburgh beat Glasgow in Glasgow in October, Glasgow were out to seek some revenge.

After a big build up the game was brought alive instantly with Edinburgh scoring a cracking first goal within 9 seconds of the first whistle. Alasdair “Yeti” Carmichael took a clean pass from a fast break and ripped a top corner goal. This was an emphatic start of a 5 goals to 1 first quarter to Edinburgh, who never looked back.
